Details about the original painting:

Acrylic on stretched canvas: 18 x 24 x 1.5. The Blue Roan Stallion is indeed a sight to behold! He’s called a blue roan for his coloring. All blue roan horses have a black base coat. You will find that almost without exception a blue roan horse will have black points. Their legs, heads, and faces along with their mane and tail will be black while their body color is lightened with roan. To the untrained eye, the horse might appear to be a gray horse, but gray horses change color with age. Not the roan. His black base coat with white hairs gives him a distinctive blue-gray sheen.

Once you’ve seen one of these magnificent horses, you never forget it! Most horse breeds include a blue roan genetic tendency. I hope I have depicted him in such a way that you can feel his strength, his pride, and his right to rule the plains. Prints are available upon request.
