All returns must be postmarked within 14 days of the received date. All returned items must be in like-new and unused condition to be restocked and resold. Certain print items may be outsourced so I will need to follow the return process of the print supplier.

REFUNDS

Refunds or exchanges will depend on which product is defective or damaged and what caused the issue.

If you purchased printed items, the manufacturer will have to be consulted depending on whether or not it’s determined that you will need a reprint, replacement, or refund.

After researching the issue, if it is determined that I need to process a [return] or [exchange], please allow at least seven days from my receipt of your item to process your [return] or [exchange]. Your order may need to be reprinted.

If we determine the best option is a refund, it shall include any taxes, shipping & handling, and any other charges that have been debited. The amount refunded will not include the charge for shipping the item back to me unless the item was received by you damaged or the image and description on my website did not accurately represent the item received.

Refunds may take 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your credit card statement, depending on your credit card company. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.

Local Direct Purchases:

I don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations. Purchasing from me directly means that you can inspect your purchase before taking delivery. But please get in touch with me if you have any problems with your order. I offer no refunds, but please feel free to contact me if there is a problem with your purchase. With handmade items such as wreaths or home decor, you must understand that each item leaves my home in the condition that you would expect from purchase. I cannot control how the packages are cared for during delivery (unless I am personally delivering locally to you). Still, all shipped items are insured, such as wreaths or home decor, that leave my home and that are shipped to you.

I will package your order in the best way possible to try to avoid any damage during delivery or shipping. If you do receive a damaged package because you chose to have your purchase shipped by me, please take a clear picture of the shipping container (box) as sent to you, as well as a picture of the damaged product. Please send me these pictures, as well as an explanation of the damage. Upon receiving the information, I will determine how to resolve the situation best. I want you to be happy with your purchase and return to purchase again. I would love to earn your trust and receive an amazing testimonial from you and your friends!

No refunds on commissioned artwork. All commissioned artwork shall have a total of (3) three minor revisions or changes included with the price. I will accept 50% down to begin the work. After you approve the final product, full payment is due and payable immediately. Your artwork will not be delivered until full payment is received. If you are not satisfied after three revisions/changes, if we seem to be at an impasse, and you do not complete the transaction (full payment), the initial funds received will be deemed my payment for the materials used and purchased for your project and my time and effort. All parties explicitly understand that the artwork will reside with and belong to Deborah Curtis Designs.  I may sell the artwork or change the design at my discretion. I don't foresee this scenario ever happening. But, as they say, "never say never."

Materials Used In My Handmade Items

I use good quality materials made to last. My wreaths are special order only. All of my wreaths are very neat and professional. Each wreath is made with as much care as if I were creating it for my own home. I take great care to clean up the back of the wreath. Many makers think that no one will look at the back, so it doesn't matter. I'm a very detail-oriented person. I have my front door wreath attached to my glass storm door. When I open my security door, you can plainly see the back of my wreath. I care how my wreaths and door hangers look from any angle. The back of my door decor looks almost as good as the front. I try to cover all dried glue and exposed picks and wires with either silk flower leaves or sheet moss. This helps give the wreath a more natural look. Most of my deco-mesh wreaths are made on a sealed metal wire frame with floral stems that are both wired and hot glued into place. Because every wreath is handmade, I can secure every stem, nest, sign, etc., into the wreath individually. I use a lot of high-temperature glue when structuring a wreath and zip ties or wire.

Installing My Wreaths, Door Hangers, or Garden Art Outdoors

The materials used in my wreaths are considered durable to moderate outdoor exposure. If hanging your wreath on an exterior door, I recommend hanging your wreath on a door that has a slight overhang. If you are expecting a big rainstorm or high winds are expected where there will be sheets of horizontal rain, I suggest removing your wreath and storing it safely until the weather moderates again. For light showers, it should be fine. Personally, I don't hang my wreaths in direct sunlight at all. Over time the sun will fade a wreath. Some materials fade faster than others. But with reasonable care, your wreath should give you 3-4 seasons of enjoyment before you notice that significantly. Everything I create should last several seasons or longer with good care.

Sizes of My Items For Sale

The sizes of my items are included in the description of the item. Please read the item description carefully, so that you know what you are buying. If you feel the item is too small or too large for your purpose, let me know. I may be able to make the style or design in a different size that will be more pleasing for your situation. Do not order an item if you have not read the description. I don't accept refunds or returns on items you mistakenly bought because you weren't paying attention to the size. I measure each item before listing it for sale. Just like when you buy lumber, canvas sizes, and wreath bases... these items as I purchase them may not be exactly 16 x 20. I have found the same thing with frames. If you ever need to be absolutely certain of an exact measurement or need confirmation of size, please message me.

Payment

Payment is expected at the time of purchase and order. I cannot begin to process your wreath, door hanger, or commissioned painting (see details above) until payment is received. Most of my orders are for items I post for sale that are ready to ship or are custom orders. I won't begin to process your order unless I'm paid first.

Shipping & Delivery

Most of my wreaths and door hangers are made to order. Typically, I try to ship your item in 2 business days after your payment is received on orders that are in stock. Made to order items (and out-of-stock items), please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery. Any orders placed on the weekend or a holiday will not be processed until the next business day.

The reason for possibly needing a 3-4 week processing time --- In today's world, sometimes materials to create your order are unavailable, or stores experience back-orders, delays, or price increases. I do my best to deal with these issues and get your order sent out sooner rather than later. If you have a special occasion and need your item quicker, I can accept a $20 rush fee in most cases. Ordinarily, I create orders and ship them in the order that I received them. Please message me if you would like to add this option to your order.

When I ship, I typically use USPS Priority. Shipping charges vary depending upon the weight and location and will be calculated accordingly.  Any orders placed on the weekend or a holiday will not be processed until the next business day.

Local Delivery

I try to deliver once or twice each week to my local community. But, if you are not local to me and require shipping, please keep in mind that I do ship each wreath in its own box to help keep the integrity of the wreath intact whenever multiple wreaths are purchased. I know this adds to the cost of shipping, but it keeps the wreath in the same condition it was in when it left my home. All you may need to do is fluff it to bring it back to its full beauty.

Flat rate shipping charges are to the lower 48 states, and APO/IPO addresses only. Shipping to Alaska & Hawaii will be much more expensive, please get in touch with me for a quote to these areas BEFORE buying. Due to wreath and door hanger size, I do not combine shipping and I'm charged a dimensional weight of 38 pounds. Shipping can easily exceed $22.00 (especially to mid or western states); therefore, in these cases, Deborah Curtis Designs ends up paying the difference. I often ship larger items like wreaths using a carrier that will be the most reasonably priced. I ship Monday – Friday, which guarantees 2-5 business days, and insurance is included. A physical RESIDENTIAL address is required to ship using FedEx. As we are all too aware, terms and shipping practices are subject to change.

Cleaning Your New Acrylic Painting

- To clean regularly, just use a dry microfiber cloth. Don't use a lot of pressure on the canvas, just gently wipe it.
- Every 2 or 3 months, you may need to give your painting a more thorough cleaning:
* Fill a sink or bucket with clean, warm water.
* Add a few drops of a non-astringent liquid dish detergent and stir the mixture by hand until it forms a mild solution. You can use this solution to spot-clean cured acrylic paintings. The detergent will help emulsify dirt and grime to lift them from the surface of the paint while the water flushes them away. Again, use a microfiber or soft cloth.
(If you just bought the painting from me, wait for this type of cleaning after a couple of months of ownership).

Shipping Original Artwork

I mainly paint sizes that are fairly easy and modest to ship. I prefer larger sizes to be personally delivered by me locally only.  However, there are always exceptions. With care and with the right buyer that is ready to accept current shipping prices and insurance, arrangements can be made to ship larger paintings or artwork safely.

Anything else not covered here will require that we communicate with each other clearly and openly so that your questions are fully answered. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.
